Presque Isle Takes Part in Age Friendly Communities Networking Event

Today Presque Isle Resource Development/Public Information Officer Kim Smith attended the Age Friendly Communities Networking and Luncheon event in Mapleton. Several communities throughout Aroostook County, including Presque Isle have been designated Age Friendly Communities.

What is an age-friendly community? An age-friendly community is one that works for people of all ages. It allows people to live, go to school,
work, recreate, shop, and take care of health needs without significant struggle. It helps ensure that community members can engage in what that particular area has to offer. The initiative also ensures people have access to mobility and transportation to get to where they need to go (and back home). It also includes assurances that services and facilities are designed to meet their needs.
