Airport Advisory Board
This board is responsible for recommending general policies concerning the operations of the Airport Department to the department head, City Manager and City Council. The board consists of six (6) members appointed by the City Council who reside in Presque Isle and one (1) resident of Aroostook County nominated by the Aroostook County Commissioners and appointed by the City Council. Members serve a four-year term. The Board meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 3:00 p.m.

Audit Committee
This is a three (3) member board consisting of (2) councilors and one (1) citizen member. The purpose of the Committee is to ensure prudent financial oversight of the City’s municipal finances; to improve communication between the independent auditor and management and enhance the auditors’ independence by serving as an objective buffer between the auditor and management. All appointments are annual; the Committee meets on an “as needed” basis.

Board of Assessment Review
This is a five (5) member board, with two (2) Alternates, who is appointed by the City Council and is responsible for deciding upon taxpayer appeals of decisions of the Tax Assessor or the City Council and for the reasonable abatement of property taxes based upon the evidence. The Board meets on “as needed” basis. Members serve a three-year term; Alternates serve a one-year term. The Board meets on an “as needed” basis.

Downtown Revitalization Committee
This committee is to encourage the community to preserve and reinvest in the economic, aesthetic, and cultural future of the City by promoting viability and vitality of the downtown area by working closely with the City Manager and staff, City Council, and the Presque Isle Area Chamber of Commerce. This committee is made up of nine (9) members, four (4) year terms, and meets monthly March – December on the second Wednesday of the month at 7:30 a.m. at the Mark and Emily Turner Memorial Library.

Library Board of Trustees
This board is responsible for recommending and ensuring that general policies of the Library are instituted and followed. This board is responsible for recommending general policies concerning the operations of the Library to the department head, City Manager and City Council. It consists of seven (7) persons who are residents of the City of Presque Isle and are appointed by the City Council.
This board exercises prudent financial administration of private funds donated to the City or Library that are intended for exclusive use by the Library. Said funds are expended only by majority vote of the entire seven member board at a duly called meeting. Trustees serve three-year terms. The Library Board of Trustees meets on the third Thursday of every month at 4:00 p.m.

MSAD #1 Board of Directors
This board consists of one representative from each of the 17 sub-districts in the MSAD #1 school district. The board’s directive is to address policy rather than administrative tasks, and the board has acting authority only when legally in session. The MSAD #1 board of directors meets monthly at an area school.

Planning Board
This is a seven (7) member board appointed by the City Council that meets on a monthly basis, and is responsible for the preparation of the municipal comprehensive plan. They are also responsible for the preparation & administration of subdivision and zoning regulations. Members serve four-year terms. The Planning Board meets on the third Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m.

Presque Isle Development Fund Board of Trustees
This is a nine (9) member board of trustees appointed by the City Council that meets on a monthly basis, and is responsible for the overall coordination for municipal loans to enhance the economy of the City of Presque Isle by providing low-interest loans for existing & new, potential businesses & industries. Trustees serve three-year terms. The Presque Isle Development Fund Board of Trustees meets on the fourth Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.

Presque Isle Housing Authority Board of Commissioners
This is a seven (7) member board of commissioners appointed by the City Council that meets the third Wednesday of every month except July and December at 5:00 pm. The purpose of the board is to serve housing needs of Low-to-Moderate income individuals in Presque Isle and Aroostook County.

Recreation and Parks Advisory Board
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Advisory Board consists of seven (7) persons who are residents of the City of Presque Isle to oversee the Recreation and Parks department and acts in an advisory role to the department monitoring programming, budgeting and maintenance. The board is made up of citizens of Presque Isle who help inform the department of the needs and wishes of the citizens of the community regarding Recreational and Parks activities and helps maintain a connection between the department and the citizenry. Members serve four-year terms. The Recreation and Parks Advisory Board meets on the second Monday of every other month at 4:00 p.m.

Registration Appeals Board
The Registration Appeals Board is a three (3) member board, with two alternates, for the purpose that if a person is aggrieved by the decision of the registrar of voters to remove a name from the voting list or to refuse to place it on the voting list, that person may appeal in writing to the registration appeals board. The Chairman serves a four-year term and regular members and alternates serve three-year terms. The Board meets on an “as needed” basis.

Zoning Board of Appeals
This is a five (5) member board, with one (1) Alternate, appointed by the City Council that meets on a monthly basis. This board is responsible for the hearing of appeals by any person affected by a land use decision and/or zoning regulations. The regular members serve three-year terms and Alternates serve one-year terms. The Zoning Board of Appeals meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.
