  • Finance Director
    The City of Presque Isle, Maine is accepting applications for a Finance Director. This position serves as an integral part of the management team. This position is responsible for the custody, collection, disbursement and investment of City funds. Work involves cash management, supervision of the collection of funds, assisting with the investment of funds and supervising the work of the office staff. Work also involves assisting the City Manager in the preparation of the annual budget of approximately $13 million and oversight of other various municipal accounts. Work is performed under the general supervision of the City Manager with considerable independence of action in accordance with applicable laws and following generally accepted accounting procedures.

    Experience must include knowledge of internal auditing and preparing for the annual fiscal audit. Provides oversight and supervision to Finance Department staff. Works closely with all department heads, elected office holders and other outside agencies. Graduation from a college or university with a four-year degree in financial management, public administration or any equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Salary is negotiable and commensurate with education and experience. The City of Presque Isle offers an excellent fringe benefits package. Must be able to successfully pass a thorough background check.

    Airport Maintenance Mechanic-Equipment Operator
    The Northern Maine Regional Airport is accepting applications for an Airfield Maintenance Mechanic-Equipment Operator. This position is full time with a competitive benefits package including health insurance. Primary duties involve assisting the Airport Maintenance Supervisor with snow removal and performing skilled mechanical work on light and heavy duty trucks, snowplows, gasoline and diesel engines, tractors, snow blowers, aircraft ground handling equipment and other automotive and mechanical equipment. Mechanical experience and the ability to work with a high level of independence is a must. Previous experience operating equipment such as, a wheeler plow truck and/or pay loader is desired. This position requires flexibility to work overtime as needed including nights and weekends.

    Police Officer
    The Presque Isle Police Department is seeking a qualified, motivated, and community-oriented individuals for the position of Police Officer. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive wages with liberal overtime opportunities, wage step increases, college tuition reimbursement, employee and family medical health coverage, paid vacation and sick leave, 401(a) retirement plan with a 9% employer contribution and 457 plan with a 3% employer match. The new hire pay range, depending upon experience, is $16.86 - $20.42 per hour. Individuals with honorable military experience, an Associate’s Degree or greater, or certified Maine Criminal Justice Academy graduates with current police certification are encouraged to apply. Candidates will be required to successfully pass a background check, a medical, psychological, and polygraph examination.
