  • Gene Cronin, Recreation and Parks Director
    Lewis Cousins, Assessor
    Lewis Cousins was appointed as the Assessing Department Director in June, 2014. He became a Certified Maine Assessor in 2006 and has served as Assessor and Code Officer in several communities in the Central Aroostook area since 2000. Prior to that, Lewis spent 24 years as a tradesman in the upholstery business specializing in auto interiors.

    Lewis has completed coursework in construction and building technology at NMCC and business administration at Husson University and is also a Maine Certified Building Official. He is a member of International Association of Assessing Officers and Maine Association of Assessing Officers and currently serves on the board of directors. He has been a member of the Northern Maine Board of Approved Baseball Umpires. He and his wife Kim reside in Woodland and have two children and a grandson, Ryan, Shelby and Vance. They enjoy spending time at their camp on Cross Lake, riding motorcycles, and warm vacations in March.
    Dana H. Fowler, Public Services Director
    Dana was appointed the Director of Public Services in the summer of 2011. Before joining the City in 1984, he worked for two Maine engineering/architectural consulting firms as a civil engineer performing site development design. Prior to that, he worked for a number of years in asphalt plant operations, interstate highway construction, and building construction.

    Dana received his Associate of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in civil engineering from the University of Maine at Orono. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer and holds several certifications related to solid waste management. He is a U.S. Army veteran and lives on the family farm in Woodland with his wife, Debbie and their three children, Adam, Bryan, and Caitlin.
    Laurie Kelly, Police Chief
    Laurie was born and raised in Mapleton, Maine and attend Presque Isle High School.

    After high school, she completed a four year tour in the US Army in the intelligence and linguistics field.

    Laurie has been the Presque Isle Police Department since 1986. She was the first female officer.

    She is currently in her 33rd year (and counting) with the Presque Isle Police Department having held positions of Patrol Officer, Sergeant, Deputy Chief and now Chief of Police.
    Sonja Eyler, Library Director
    Sonja Plummer Morgan was appointed Librarian for the City of Presque Isle in 2003. Before joining the City, she directed a public library in Moab, Utah, worked as Ed Tech in a school library in Scarborough, Maine, and first worked for the City of Presque Isle as an Assistant Children's Librarian. A native Mainer, Sonja received a BS in Library and Information Technology at the University of Maine at Augusta and the degree of Master of Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina on full scholarship. Sonja is immediate past President of the Maine Library Association and the past president of the Association for Rural & Small Libraries. Sonja lives in Presque Isle with her seven children and two Bernese Mountain dogs.

    Scott Wardwell, Airport Director
    Mr. Wardwell has served in his current position as Airport Director at the Northern Maine Regional Airport since 2003. He holds both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maine (UM). While at UM, he was chosen as a member of the Pi Tau Sigma Mechanical Engineering honor society. In addition to being the Airport Director, he oversees the Fixed Based Operation (FBO), Presque Isle General Aviation, at the airport. The FBO provides a wide array of services including fueling, deicing, catering and hangaring. He holds a Private Pilot Certificate. In addition, he has held several key positions in the aerospace industry including hypersonics research engineer, gas turbine performance engineer and aircraft engine manufacturing project engineer. In addition to his background in aerospace, he has worked in the economic development field in which he worked on technical feasibility studies, marketing and worker training.

    Darrell White, Fire Chief
    Darrell White was hired by the Fire Department in 1988 as a dispatcher; in 1989, he was promoted to Airport and Structural Firefighter. In 1999, Darrell was promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief. In 2001, Darrell completed his Fire Officer I &II training at the State Level; Darrell also completed the Fire Instructor I course at the State level in 2003.

    In 2006 Darrell was promoted to the Fire Chiefs position and in 2009 was handed the EMA Directors position. Darrell is a member of the Maine Fire Chiefs Association, Aroostook County Fire Chiefs Association, and a member of the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) and was chosen as co-chair for 2010. Darrell also is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
    Darrell's firefighter career began back in his home town where he became a volunteer firefighter for Easton in 1976 and still helps out his hometown department when needed with training and teaching of classes.

    When Darrell is off duty, he enjoys spending time with his daughter, Lyndsay, and his son, Corey. Darrell also enjoys playing golf and
    riding his motorcycle. During the winter months, Darrell can be found at the University of Maine cheering on the Maine Black Bears Hockey Team. Darrell is proud to report that his son, Corey, will start his biology degree at the University of Maine at Presque Isle in the fall of 2010; Corey hopes to continue in biology to attain a Masters of Science degree in pharmacy at either Husson College or the University of Rhode Island.
