Martin grew up in the small coastal town of Hancock, Maine and comes to us with considerable knowledge and over ten years municipal experience having been Town Manager in the communities of Town of Sangerville, Town of Livermore Falls, most recently Mapleton, Chapman & Castle Hill prior to taking his position with the City of Presque Isle. He is a Graduate of the University of Maine with a Bachelor's and Master's in Public Administration.
He is a member on many local boards and committees including the Maine Municipal Association, the International City Manager Association, and Maine Municipal Employee Health Trust Board. He is a past President of the Aroostook Municipal Association and has served as president for the Maine Town, City and County Management Association.
Martin is very active with local clubs and volunteer programs. He is a proud member of the Presque Isle Rotary Club, helped organize races to benefit the Aroostook Chapter of the Red Cross, as well as the UMPI & Wintergreen Arts 5K Color run. He enjoys donating his time to improve the County and is a huge advocate for the County and the City of Presque Isle.
Martin lives in Presque Isle with his wife, Kari and his daughter, Sabine. His wife is originally from Presque Isle and they love being close to her family. They moved to Presque Isle to raise a family, seeking a community with strong sense of community, excellent schools, outdoor recreation, and overall great quality of life. Martin is an avid runner and has participated in many races around the State. He also is an established cook- with an Associate's degree in Dietary Management.
